Thank you, Photographers, for Making a Difference

On March 18, #TheFrontStepsProject began as a little idea in a Boston suburb as residents went into isolation due to COVID-19.

We sought to stay connected to our neighbors and support our local Needham Community Council in a time of crisis.

We never expected that, within weeks, we would be connected to hundreds of selfless, caring, talented people from across the U.S., Canada and even the globe. We’re even “one degree” away from the thousands of people you photographed along the way!

Thank you for voluntarily replicating #TheFrontStepsProject in your local communities by donating your time, talent and hearts to making a difference. Our little idea became a social movement thanks to you.

Thousands of people are benefiting from our collective efforts.

#TheFrontStepsProject proves that you don’t need to be famous, or an “influencer”, to Do Good. You just Do Good.

With Gratitude and Respect,

Cara Soulia and Kristen Collins

Co-founders of #TheFrontStepsProject

Every single person I photographed for #TheFrontStepsProject could not say enough good things about the whole project. People were feeling joy they had not felt during quarantine and it was so amazing to experience. I received so many messages telling me that these sessions meant more to them than I could ever imagine. This was truly an amazing idea in such a difficult time, and to encourage others to pass on the act of kindness by donating funds to a charity was so incredibly thoughtless. This was hands down the best thing I have been a part of in a long time!

There are families who set up fun themes and families that have experienced hardship that are simply thankful for the happy moment. Just capturing a family portrait with these thoughtful and generous people has been amazing. I’m fortunate for the opportunity to photograph each of them and hope that their participation will spread the feelings of joy and connection. Thank you so much for planting the seed that grew to such a beautiful effort!

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for starting #TheFrontStepsProject. I started it in my community after seeing it and it has spread so much joy, filled my soul, brought a sense of community and raised $10,000 for a local charity that can’t keep up with trying to feed the influx of people now without work.

Participating in the Front Steps Project as a photographer was immensely gratifying. It gave us something positive to focus on and a way to feel like we were giving back to the community that has supported us over the years.
